Load Balancers

Load balancing is used to delegate heavy workloads amongst various servers within a network. This way the systems can be used at their optimal capacity, decreasing processing and providing the opportunity for individual systems to work more efficiently.
With this test the team will test the load balancers capabilities within an IPv6 network. The communication of these load balancers with other devices within the network will come to light as well. The team will pay attention to the ability to delegate traffic amongst servers and check if a website is still accessible after a fail-over .

How is this tested?
By increasing the traffic towards certain servers the team will create an environment in which these servers receive excessive workloads. The load balancer will then have to divide this traffic amongst the servers. The fundamental functions of the load balancer will also be tested, for example the one needed to sustain the system in case one server fails.
